High Sierra Animal Rescue is a no kill dog rescue tucked in the quiet mountain town of Portola CA. Since 1999 we have poured our hearts into saving dogs who can no longer remain in county shelters. Every dog who comes through our doors receives safety, comfort, medical care, and the chance to start over. We serve communities throughout Northern California and Northern Nevada and we love what we do.
Our mission is simple. Find each dog a loving committed forever home and celebrate every happy ending along the way. You can be part of that story. Our rescue is funded through private donations, grants, events, memorial gifts, and the support of our boarding kennels which help us cover daily care and emergency needs.
