A donation of any amount would allow us to improve the lives of countless homeless dogs in Plumas County and beyond. Although we are appreciative of every gift we receive, monthly giving may be the only way HSAR will be able to continue the life saving work it provides. If you have adopted from HSAR, had a helping hand, or have personally experienced the good work that the entire organization has done for a homeless pet, then you know what a crucial role HSAR plays in saving the lives of unwanted animals in our community. Monthly Giving
When you become a Guardian of High Sierra Animal Rescue, you’re providing our nonprofit with consistent and reliable income throughout the year. We believe that every dog deserves a chance and we feel honored to be here for them. Our monthly givers are there with us every step of the way.
If you sign up online, your credit or debit card donation will automatically be processed each month, it’s that easy! You are also welcome to sign up for automatic payments through your bank account or you may send in monthly checks.

Pet Station Distribution Program
HSAR works closely with Pet Station located in Reno, Susanville, Tahoe, Truckee, Minden, and Sparks! They have generously set up blue donation bins in each store in order to support rescues like us! Each month they have a distribution day where small, local rescues are able to pick up critical supplies to help with their rescue efforts. If you shop at Pet Station or live near one, please consider contributing to their distribution program located in each store. Below are some examples of items that are always needed.

Planned Gifts:
You can support homeless pets at High Sierra Animal Rescue with a planned gift and you might benefit from income and capital gains tax savings when you establish a planned gift. Donors can also direct their insurance plans, retirement funds and IRAs in support of HSAR. This designation often allows the donor to make a considerable legacy gift. Careful planning is necessary in the use of IRAs and other retirement plans to fund charitable gifts, so please contact your tax advisor.
