Thank you for considering adoption and for opening your heart to a new best friend!

To begin the process please complete our online application. After we review and approve your application we will contact you to schedule an appointment with you and everyone in your household including any resident dogs.

Please schedule ahead with our staff since we are not able to accommodate walk in visits.​

Every dog at High Sierra Animal Rescue receives thorough care.  All dogs are spayed or neutered, current on age appropriate vaccinations, micro chipped, tested for heart worm, given monthly heart worm prevention, and de-wormed. Puppies under six months are not yet spayed or neutered at the time of adoption. Instead we work with adopters to have these procedures completed once the puppy reaches six months.

We stand by our dogs for life. We offer a Foster to Adopt option for trial runs as well as training guidance and post adoption support. Fencing is not strictly required for adoption. Some dogs benefit from a fully fenced yard based on their energy level or history and we will let you know when that applies. Our goal is always to match each dog with the safest and most suitable environment for their personality.

Adoption fees:
Dogs six months and older- $185
Puppies under six months- $225
Sponsored adoptions- Some adoption fees are fully covered by a generous donor which means there is no cost to you.
