High Sierra Animal Rescue (HSAR)is a nonprofit organization founded in 1999. Located in Plumas County, we are dedicated to saving the lives of homeless adoptable pets and caring for them until they can be placed in new loving homes.

We are located one mile west of Portola. CA just off Hwy. 70 on Meadowridge Lane. From Reno, take Hwy 395 north to Hallelujah Jct., then Hwy 70 west. From Sacramento area take Hwy 80 east to exit 188B, Hwy 89 west. Take Hwy 89 to Hwy 70 east.
